The shop was filled with laughter and shouts of “oh my God you look amazing!” and Quines helping each other with pulling up zips and deciding on last minute accessories. Louise was ironing creases, whilst others were straightening their seams. As we were leaving the shop, we heard a little whining sound from the back of the homeware display and spotted wee Dug looking at us with big “please take me too” eyes.

When Covid-19 hit, and the country went into lockdown my shop underwent a big change. Being closed for months and not knowing when visitors would be able to roam the village and pop into my little vintage world again was nail-biting. I had an online shop, but it didn’t have nearly half of what was in my shop (there was a lot of stock to keep track of!). I was also fairly active through Instagram and Facebook but usually didn’t have a lot of time to keep it updated, and navigating the website was hard for me to get to grips with as I am what you might call a “technophobe”!
I realised if I wanted to keep my business afloat during the pandemic, I would have to adapt and try and get to grips with social media…
